SquareCritStatusEffect.pngCrit chance is a hero's chance to deal critical hits with their skills, which deal 1.2x damage. Critical hits are calculated per hit, so multi-hit skills can have some of the hits be criticals while other are not.

Heroes have a low 0.01% base crit chance, but it temporarily increases by landing attacks on enemies, and rapidly decays when attacks fail to hit. Certain heroes can choose upgrades that cause a skill to always crit, or increase the crit multiplier above 1.2x.

For the most part crit buildup only affects the LMB basic attack skill, and not any of the other baseline skills, although there are some exceptions.

Upgrades that change the nature of an attack, such as those that turn a melee attack into a ranged attack, also can change the crit buildup.
