Range
Range is an indication of the effective distance of the skill. Different skills are limited by their range in different ways.
Target Range
Some skills limit how far away you can target, notably area skills, beam skills and teleports.
Radius
The size of the hit area for the skill effect may be defined by a radius measured in metres.
Disappear
Most projectile skills disappear at max range. The main exception are projectiles that arc, which usually disappear after a certain amount of time.
Falloff
Many ranged skills have falloff, where their damage is gradually reduced by up to 50% (varies by skill) when hitting enemies at longer ranges.
- Damage reduction from falloff scales linearly with distance.
- For a projectile, falloff is based on the distance between the firing location of the projectile and where it hits a target.
- For an AoE, falloff is based on the distance between the center of the AoE and where it hits a target.
Gravity
Some projectile skills arc downwards due to gravity, making them difficult to aim beyond their stated range (although they can still hit). Uncle Sven's flasks are a notable example of this type of projectile.
